>>326It doesn't really matter. It's not a popularity contest. If people want to post, then great — and if they don't, well then so be it. Most of the time I don't feel psychologically healthy enough to post anywhere online, so that's my own reason for not posting much here. To be honest I prefer the slow pace here over the hubbub of the larger boards.

>>328But that's the thing man, I need a community where I can lurk and read about other people's opinions, because I enjoy having a connection with other people(even if it's just online), which is something I can't do on a forum that just get's a handful of post's every week. Reading all the posts this place get's in a week probably takes me less than 5 minutes, yet I'm a recluse who's usually locked, stoned and drunk in his house 24/7, so what the fuck am I supposed to do with the rest of my time? What are you expecting me to ask bro?

If you're talking about hikiculture, the previous mod shut it down or something so now it's hikiverse. Hikiverse is pretty active all things considered but is a lot different than this place and you have to make an account.

Halo, i´m new here, any friendly people?

Not dead just yet
No.742
Reports of HikkiChan's death have been greatly exaggerated

I can sort of understand people wanting a more active community. This is the only social interaction I get that I don't hate, and these people are very similar to me and it's comforting.

>>1858Usually I go for stuff that has even the smallest promise of a challenge like the new DmC was supposed to have (dying in one hit. It was disappointing, to say the least) or this Dark Souls I'd heard so much about (again, disappointing and lacking in any actual difficulty) Other than that, I'll usually sit around playing board games or whatever. Trying out completely different tactics each day, figuring the best strategies and what have you.

I like this pace though. The others are too fast for me. Guess I'm anti social from the core
No.2688
if this place seems dead to you, you dont really belong here. the pace is perfect imo.

but that is only the half, cause you can die in that life and start a new one, on your own.

I'm pretty active on there (on 8chan). if you saw the thread about anarchism that was me

>>323>There used to be this one hikikomori forum I used to lurk but it's down for some reasonYou probably won't see this post seeing as you made it last year, but which hikikomori forum was it?
A few of the people here are exiles from the previously shut down hikikomori boards, and Hikkichan itself was made to replace AnonIB's original /hikki/ board after that site finally shut down. Also if anyone else has information about the old forums, feel free to reply. I really miss all the old users from that era… no idea what happened to everyone. Did they all sudoko? Or just move past their reclusive lifestyles? Seems I'm the only one left here, the "Peter Pan" who never grew up.

>>2759>>2681>any fellow r9kbots here?Hello, friends. I too discovered this place from a thread on fullchan's /r9k/ a few weeks ago.
This place looks interesting, I'll keep lurking

>>2888After a long break from the board, I've just returned and spent much of the past few days on /r9k/. Addictive little place, although there's a lot of heavy meme posting and general shit-posting to try and ignore.
No.2918
>>2889How long was that break? A lot has happened in the last few months. It might be addictive yes, but it's negativity and shitposting gets tiring.
I'll try to remember hikkichan and lurk a bit more to understand how it is around here, and eventually I might just leave that place for good.
I'm going to shut up now, I suspect talking about /r9k/ here doesn't increase the quality of this board.

>>324I won't wish my worst enemy (if I had one, no human contact and all) to be a hikki. This is a punishment that can only be ended with death or suffer more by trying reintegrate into normie society.
That's why I hope the community doesn't grow.

Sorry if this comment is misplaced, but I'm starting a support group for any current or recovering recluses/hikikomori. Plan on starting a Skype group where we can all talk maybe a couple times a week about what's going on. The focus of it would generally be getting better and out into the world eventually. Would like to get between 3 to however many people would be interested in this. Leave a Skype name if you're interested and I'll add you.

No.4444
>>4437Nice idea, and it's one that gets brought up every so often in the various hikikomori-themed communities I've been in, but how are you going to ensure that the people who really need access to such a group will be able to find it, and that it won't just become a small cliquish circlejerk? That to me seems to be the usual issue with such Skype chat groups.
